The blisters on my heels said the walk would take its toll,
And refreshing water called my weary soul.
I slowly waded in, but soon I left my fear,
On the sand I once could touch, but was nowhere near.
With the life-vest of humility safely on the shore,
The weight of foolish pride could pull me down,
And the feet that once had burned from the early morning sand,
Now long just to stand upon the ground.
The waves are crashin in, overcoming me with sin,
And theres no way I can win, so I surrender in the end,
My soul is tossed about, with no voice left to shout,
But if I overcome this doubt, would anyone pull me out?
The water looked so calm and harmless from the beach,
But danger hid and waited in the deep.
Never should I doubt the power of the sea,
Or the complicated traps it lays for me.
With the surface of the ocean clinging to my neck
And the glare from the sun to close my eyes,
A final cry for freedom echoes from within,
Cause I know I wont survive another night.
Chorus
One great rock stands alone, giving me a fresh new hope.
But the only haven that it knows, is to take me in when my heart is broken.
Last Chorus:
The waves were crashing in, overcoming me with sin,
And theres no way I could win, so I surrendered in the end.
My soul was tossed about, with no voice left to shout,
But in the face of all my doubt, my Savior pulled me out.
